a. the degrees of freedom used in this exercise was 6.
c. the calculated chi-square value is 79.23. d. it was not by chance that caused unequal numbers of captured wooly worm phenotype because our chi-squared value was in the significant range making this rare. e. boogie, olive garden, and rainbow dash were subjected to positive selection change because they had adaptations that helped their survival and reproduction possibilities. pitman, relish, fire lash, and blood worm because they did not have adaptations that helped their survival and reproduction possibilities. f.these results indicate that this wooly worm population will adapt to become more like the types of worms that had positive selection change or die off because they will be eaten. g. these characteristics determine the selection of certain worm colors because the worms with brighter colors were easier to see. h. the population would change over time by adapting to this certain environment or decreasing its population size because worms would be eaten. the community would begin to look very dark green or brown depending on if this worm was on the grass or dirt.

Postlab Questions—Write out and answer the following questions 1. Identify the parking lot that was the most diverse. Based on your observations during the lab, explain why your prediction in question #1 of the prelab was supported or not supported. The student parking lot was the most diverse. This data is supported by my data table because the student parking lot had three more different colors than the staff parking lot. 2. List the single most abundant species in each set of data, and write a plausible explanation to explain why these are the most abundant species. The single most abundant species in the student parking lot was white cars because teenagers believe this color is cleaner. The single most abundant species in the staff parking lot was also white cars because adults believe this color is cooler during the hot summer months. 3. Determine the maximum and minimum values for the Shannon Diversity Index in the parking lot you surveyed. The maximum value for the Shannon Diversity Index was the student parking lot, which had a value of 1.903636388. the minimum value for the Shannon Diversity Index was the staff parking lot, which had a value of 1.683133246. 4. If you conducted this lab in a shopping mall parking lot, predict whether the Shannon Diversity Index would be high or low, and how it would compare to the school parking lots. I believe the Shannon Diversity Index would be High and would be higher than the school parking lots because there would be more cars and more different kinds of colors. 5. If you conducted this lab at a new car dealership, predict whether the Shannon Diversity Index would be high or low, and how it would compare to the school parking lots. I believe the Shannon Diversity Index would be high and would be higher than the school parking lots because there would be more cars but around the same amount of every color. Based on this data the average temperature did not change over 17 years. Based on this data the average difference grew a small amount over 17 years. Based on this data the amount of precipitation doubled. Based on this data the drought moved towards the middle of the United States and got worse. Based on this data the surface temperature got warmer near the equator but stayed the same everywhere else.
Turlock's population is pretty stable until the age of about 65. This decline could being occurring because the elderly are leaving Turlock to retire in nicer places. Turlock is stable for ages younger than 65 because it is a great place to have children and raise families.
Fresno's population is slowly declining . This could be due to crime in the city and parents wanting to raise their children in a safer city.
Santa Clara's population is declining but has a spike in the population around age 19 to 44. This city is in the silicon valley where most internships and technology based jobs are including Facebook and Google are.
San Diego's population is declining. I believe this is declining because people attend college here then move away to settle down and have families
Los Angeles has steady population with a slight decline. This is because it is a large city, has many job opportunities, but does not have room for families to live and grow.
Tallahassee has a constant decline besides from the ages 15 to 30. This spike in population is due to the fact that it has the number 1 party college in the nation.
Oakdale's population is stable. It is this way because there is room for farms and cattle ranches. There is also affordable houses. This will make families want to live here and have more children.
